so it begins...

Saturday was the first Anahiem... it was not the best day ive ever had. Ryan crashed tuesday before the race.. He hit his head pretty bad.. he wasnt knocked out but he was definatley hurting. He had a impact test.. which is a test to find out how bad you hit your head and in what area. The first impact he did showed he had 25% in his reaction time (no thats not good). So he continued to take the rest of the week off so his head can heal. On friday he had one more impact test and it showed 90% across the board. So ryan thought he would be good to go. He practiced on saturday, his lap times were definatley off..but they always are! Last year he was 12th fastest in practice and almost won phoenix! I never judge ryan off of practice. So he qualified 10th. I was not stressed at all about that! He raced in the heat race, he rode well.. not the best ive seen him ride but well and got 2nd. He then lined up for the main event.. he didnt get the best start.. OH NO! He as mid pack! So he worked himself up to around 6th.. he seemed to be riding the best he could and was catching the riders in front of him. About half way through it looked like he hit a wall.. He was really slowing down getting passed and just not riding like i have seen him ride. He ended up 6th in the main. He didnt come up to the stands after the race so I went down to the semi to see what was going on.. he said about half way through he couldnt concentrate anymore. So we decided he needed to take some time off after the race!! Ryan was very disappointed.. to see his face was devistating to me. He works SO hard and it just wasnt what he thought. I am faithful that God has a plan for ryan and i. I know that God does everything for a reason. I had to leave early because i had to work the next day. SO i left and just prayed the whole way home. Got up early and went to work the next day. =] Ahh the life of a professional motocrossers wife. So glamerous!!
