Halloween and Colorado

This year for halloween I wanted to dress Krue up but not go overboard! I found the cutest little owl beanie online at my favorite place ETSY! So on Halloween i just put the beanie on him with a little gray onsie.. it was perfect! Not over done but still dressed up! We didnt go out trick or treating because I didnt want people to think the candy was just for me! We did stop by our next door neighbors for a minute though! Heres a picture of my precious owl!

Krue and I took a short weekend trip to see grandma and grandpa! I was really nervous about flying by myself.. well more or less getting though security with out crying! But I did it both ways with no break downs! I felt so grown up! It was great to see my parents and they got some really good one on one time krue! I also got the privlage of going to the royer/murray wedding! Kerri grew up at the track with us and so did john! They both are on there second marriages and they are SO in love! It was fun to see some old friends as well as long time friends! Here is a picture of me and my longest/dearest friend brandye with her son ryder! Its so crazy because we see eachother a few times a year but when we do its like NO time has passed at all! We also used to talk about our hopes, dreams and futures together and we both ended up with amazing men, adorable little boys, and a happy life! Brandye is expecting her second son in april!

Krue is getting SO big and smiling SO big! I love him SO much its ridiculous! He had his two month check up! He is 11 pounds and 23 inches! he is in the 50th percentile and growing like a weed! I am really starting to enjoy mother hood now that he is responding to me! He is so much fun! I cant believe how fast he is growing! I thank God everyday for such a healthy boy!

Update on the Morais'

So its been awhile since ive just written whats going on in our lives.. As of today Krue is 7 weeks old! I cant believe he will be two months on wednesday! Time is really flying by! Its been a little bit crazy in the morais household... well not really to be honest! Ryan has been unemployed for the last 7 weeks... its had some pros and cons! We will start with the cons... STRESS! is my husband going to have a job next year? Its weird because normally i am the stress ball when it comes to ryan and his job! I would prefer he hang up his boots and get a real job with benefits and a normal schedule but that is not in the cards for ryan at this point in his life. But this year I was extremely calm and never really worried. Deep down i knew that god would provide for us and I had complete trust and faith in the lord... which is weird because i will always say that i do but this year i really did! Although its been stressful that ryan didnt have a job lined up for the 2012 season it was incredibly nice that I had ryan home with me while we adjusted to being parents. So i just got 7 weeks of ryan helping me in middle of the night, changing diapers, being able to go places together and just relax together. AMAZING! We just had a great 7 weeks together learning all about Krue. I know not many dads get that experience and i feel we were blessed to be able to experience parenthood together.

Krue is getting so big! He now is 10 pounds 10 ounces. Growing like a weed! He smiles now which completely melts my heart! The first 6 weeks were really rough. He cried all the time! I mean if he wasnt eating or sleeping he was crying. It was hard to adjust to but now i know what he likes and know him a little better! The crying made it hard for me to adjust to motherhood... i really thought i was prepared for it but i wasnt! Its incredible how much i love my little man. Its true that you dont know or understand true love until you become a mother. Krue is also enjoying tummy time, just kickin, and his bumbo! He is a little small for the bumbo but does enjoy it for a few minutes! Krue does not enjoy bath time or when mom eats lots of dairy! He poops about 8 times a day and toots REALLY loud! I am in love with him! We cant really decide who krue looks like! I think he looks like me! Ryans family agrees! Krue has my nose and ears.. but he has ryans feet, body, mouth! His eyes are still pretty blue! I know they wont change until about 6 months.. but i think they are going to be hazel or gray. Only time will tell! He is amazing and i never knew how much i would be able to love something!

Ryan is doing well... he actually is at Pala right now.. he hasnt been there in 7 weeks.. and hes RIDING! Yes ryan got a job next year... It isnt what we were hoping for but its Gods plan and ryan is really excited to be riding again. He rode today and really liked his bike. Looking forward to an injury free year! This year is going to be a learning year for ryan as he adjust to the 450 and is racing with the big boys! After last year i dont think it can get much worst. We agreed that ryan was just a hot mess last year. We both worked hard to get ryan ready for 2012 mentally and physically. I will be happy if ryan just stays healthy!

I am healed.. i had my 6 week check up last week! I feel much better and my muscle is coming back slowly! I never realized how weak i would be after just sitting all the time. I am starting to get out of the house more and even had a girls dinner with my dear friends amy and janelle last night! Looking forward to starting swim lessons with krue as well as taking him to the mygym. I still have a lot of weight to loose.. but I am starting to feel more comfortable in my body! I am looking forward to going to Colorado next week. Krue and i are going alone.. i am nervous but i am excited to get some time in CO with my parents. I am really looking forward to the holiday season this year.  OH and breaking dawn part 1 of twilight! YUP im a nerd but im excited! Well I think thats it from our home! Better get off the computer and get stuff done while little man is still sleeping!

Krues first trip to CO!

a few weeks ago andrew called me on his weekly call.. he said he was going to Colorado in a week with the fam to visit the grandparents. I thought thats cool.. and then i really thought hmmm well shoot ryan is unemployed and neither of us are doing anything why dont we go too! Andrew got SO excited and jumped on the bandwagon too! So since we werent imposing on there visit i had tickets booked with in a few hours! I was SO excited and SO nervous at the same time! I did a lot of research for newborns on airplanes.. and jacki gave me a lot of advice so i felt better! It did help that ryan was with me! Once we got on our plane people saw that we had a newborn and would say "im not listening to a baby cry the whole flight" and up and moved! However Krue was such a good little man! Not one cry on the way there! I was so proud! Once we got there dad picked us up in the truck since we had the stroller, two ogio bags, diaper bag, car seat and Ryans road bike! WOW! I dont know how it all fit! Yes we looked like a circus in the airport! It was SO nice to be in colorado! We really didnt do too much the first few days but it was nice to just be around family! Andrew and Ryan rode there road bikes every day! So they were happy to get out and excersize together. We went to the zoo one day, we went and visited grandma one day, and just enjoyed eachothers company! It was a great trip to colorado. Everyone got to really know krue and how much he cries! But im glad we went! Ryan got to go on a road bike ride with andrew and Tom Danielson. That was the highlight of his trip! Tom was the top american in the tour de france this year! Ryan was over the moon excited! Im glad he got to experience that! On the way home krue cried for a few minutes before we took off! But I was waiting to feed him and once i did he didnt make a peep on the way there! Hoping he is a good boy again for my next trip.. ALONE! here are some pictures from the colorado trip!

Krues first road trip!

Ryan's nephew Jaxson turned 1 on October 8th! Holy cow that year went fast! So of course in great morais fashion Amber and Jackie were throwing him a party! And i don't just mean a first birthday party with cake i mean a full on party with 50 people! So ryan and I wanted to celebrate his birthday so we drove up to turlock! We decided not to go until Friday since we knew the family would be getting ready for the party like crazy and we didn't want to be bored in turlock! Krue did great on the way up in the car! I figured we would have to stop a few times for feedings and diaper changes! He did much better than I expected! I fed him about an hour before we left and he made it to bakersfield.. and I even woke him up to feed him! We ate some lunch and got back on the road. He woke up about 30 minutes before we got to turlock screaming bloody murder so we had to stop one more time for a feeding! I was so proud of my little month old! He did so great in the car! We got to turlock and the whole family was so busy getting ready for the party! Glad we didnt get there any earlier! Saturday Paityn had cheer leading! So ryan and i went and watched her cheer! She does such a great job cheering and shes really into it! I ended up having to feed krue in the car about half way through her cheer and i had a little bit of a melt down because i was cramped in the car, krue was crying and pooped on me! So i just wanted to go home! So once we got back to ambers house i cried and i cried and i cried and felt much better! I just needed to cry and be alone for a little bit! Once my hormones calmed down it was party time! Krue got to meet his great grandma grandma and his great grandpa! The party was amazing! It was a farm yard theme! They had a photo area in the shape of barn, games, bobbing for apples, animal cake pops, etc! It was amazing! I dont think ryan and i ate that much food in a long time! Ok maybe not that long i was just prego! But we defiantly went to bed full! We headed home on sunday.. and krue did just as well on the way home as he did on the way up! Loving our little man!

Welcome to the world KRUE!

Warning: Graphic labor details plus horrible photos of me!

So Krue was born almost three weeks ago so I need to write down what happened STAT before my post pregnancy/ zero sleep brain forgets all of it!

On Tuesday September 6th it was just a normal day.. I think i went to my favorite store target and just did some stuff around the house. Since Ive been on maternity leave its been my goal to really keep up on the house. So i cleaned the bathrooms and swiffered the floor. I told myself if i do something every day the house will stay somewhat clean. Nesting? must have been!!  Ryan and I had a nice quiet evening. Ryan and I cooked dinner and just watched TV on the couch together like we always do. September 6th really doesn't have good TV since its in between the summer and fall line ups. So we found "friends" on Nick at nite! WHAT? I grew up watching "friends" and it really freaked me out that friends was on nick at nite! When i was growing up "I love Lucy" was on nick at nite! WOW I'm officially old. So around 930 or 1000 Ryan and i decide to go to sleep! I started to watch my favorite show on MTV (see I'm still young) "teen mom" at around 1030 i had my first contraction. I thought hmm that was weird but it was probably just a strong braxton hicks! So I thought no big deal.. no need to wake anyone up! About 1045 i had another one! NO this cant be labor... I'm not ready yet! I wanted to go to Pala on Saturday... just try to relax and it will go away! HA! NOPE! More contractions kept coming about 10 minutes apart.. and lasting 30-45 seconds. Around 1130 i woke up Ryan... I let him know this is it.. I think?!?

So I called my mom around 1130 and let her know.. uhh mom.. I think i am in labor. She says what do you mean you think? I have never experienced it before.  But my contractions continued to come and get stronger and closer as the night went on.  My adrenaline kicked in and i couldn't sleep.. I was wide awake Not that i could sleep through contractions anyways. I wanted to do a lot of laboring at home since it is more comfortable.. plus they send you  home if you arnt far enough along! I only wanted to go the hospital once! Around 130 I called my mom again and let her know.. this is it. You need to fly out in the morning. So she made her ticket and drove to Denver for the first flight out to San Diego! Around 230 my contractions were getting longer and stronger so I decided to take a shower. Once i got into the warm shower my contractions stopped! WHAT? So i decided to take a bath.. and they stopped for around 30 minutes! I was so confused... but honestly it was fine with me! So i got out and as soon as i stepped out of the tub they started up again! So i turned on the TV and the only thing that was on was my favorite shower "friends" yup marathon night! HOLLA! at least i didn't have to watch paid programing all night! So Ryan of course packed his bag, finished packing mine up, emptied the dishwater, cleaned, etc. Then Ryan went to sleep for a couple of hours while I continued to labor. Around 515 ryan was still sleeping and i think my panting woke him up! So at 530 and about 8 friends episodes later my contractions were 5 minutes apart and around 1 minute. We decided it was time to head to the hospital!

Good thing the hospital is only 10 minutes away! I cant imagine driving an hour to get to a hospital. Once we got to the hospital i was in a lot of pain! We checked in at admitting and headed up stairs. I thought we would go straight to the triage area but no i labored outside in a chair for about 30 minutes. i was dying! FINALLY we got back to triage and the nurse we had was very overwhelmed! It was almost shift change and to be honest she was doing a half ass job on me and helping my neighbor (who mind you was in zero pain and had a scheduled c section)  She checked me and i was 4 cm dilated and rudely told me my water had broken. I didn't feel anything drip or see any blood or fluid any where. So i thought that was weird! She then told me i would be admitted and she asked me if i wanted an epidural.. I was like YES please! I was doing okay at this point but i was in a lot of pain and i knew i would need one sooner than later. I was then told that i would have to wait since the anasteliologist would be with the girl who has having the section next to me. I agreed that would be fine. Plus my goal was to make it to five cm anyways! I knew a epidural would really slow things down. So she puts the monitors on me and starts to FREAK out! she comes running and yanks me on my side and she said the babies heart rate is dropping during contractions... so then i started to get freaked out that i was going to have an emergency c section. I was then admitted and we were going to have a baby!! HOLY MOLY!

We then called Ryan's parents, friends and family and let them know that this was it and baby mo would be here soon! We got to our room after shift change around 730. Met our nurse Ros who was very nice. Put the monitors and low and behold the baby's heart rate was fine! My BFF Amy went and picked up my mom from the airport and Ryan's parents came to the hospital. I continued to labor and my nurse Ros checked me... I was 6 cm and my water was not broken just leaking a little bit. I was in a lot of pain at this point in time. I was begging for my epidural and the nurse kept telling me he was wrapped up in the section. Then Dr. Calinisan (who was on call for Dr. Safie) came and checked me and then broke my water (ouch!). My contractions at this point got a lot stronger and closer together.  I was not able to breathe through them and i my arms and legs were going numb because i was not breathing! She asked me if i wanted something for the pain and i agreed.  I really wanted to try with no pain medicine but that went right out the window! She gave me nubain and i was able to breathe through my contractions. It was a nice feeling when i didn't have any contractions either. Then about 15 minutes later the anasteiologist came in and gave me my epidural. It was a least 930 at this point. My mom had landed and i was so excited she was going to make it for the birth!  So i was really relaxed from the nubain so it didn't hurt at all. After the epidural we were in business! I felt so good! NO PAIN! i really don't know why everyone doesn't get one! I tried to take a nap since i hadn't slept since 730 the morning of the 6th! I couldn't sleep... maybe a cat nap here and there but not good sleep! My mom got to the hospital around 11! YAY! baby could come now! I was checked again and I was at 8 cm. They put me on pitocin since i was staying at 8 cm and not progressing. Around 130  i was 10 cm. OMG i am going to have to push this baby out!! Instead of starting to push she let me "labor down" so they kept the pit on and just let my body prepare and the head hopefully to come down a little farther! I kept telling the nurse that i could still feel the baby in my ribs. I knew it hadn't dropped yet so we labored down for about an hour and a half. It was nice.. we just turned off the lights and relaxed.

At 3:30 it was time to start pushing. My legs were numb and i was trying to push a baby that was in my ribs down... I couldn't feel anything. I pushed for an hour and I wasn't making much progress. I could still feel the baby in my ribs. My back was really hurting me. i don't know if it was from the epidural lines or the hospital bed or what but it was hard for me to lay flat on my back and push! I kept trying though! I was vomiting the entire time i was pushing. Vomiting while laying flat on your back is not fun wither! Ryan was so supportive the whole time. He kept telling me what a good job I was doing and how proud he was of me. It was very sweet! A lot of fluid was coming out as did meconium. I know what meconium is and it can cause infection in the lung if it is aspirated. So she gave me a little break.. called the doctors let them know. It just so happened that there was a neonatologist in the hospital. He had come in earlier and introduced him self. He said he only comes to murrieta once every month or two and was just going to observe the birth so he can learn and lend a helping hand if needed. Of course it was fine with me.. a neonataolgist from children's in San Diego! GREAT! Well turns out God had him there for a reason! Once Ros came back in the room she turned me on my side and I pushed MUCH better this way! I also developed a fever at this point... So they gave me a dose of antibiotics. I pushed for 40 minutes or so... the baby crowned and then the doctor had to be called. Dr. Calinisan was at loma Linda... so i had to wait for her to get to the hospital. I had the urge to push but they kept telling me to breathe through it! Once she got there (20 minutes later) about 15 people came in the room including the neonatologist and a respiratory therapist who i work with! He was very kind and didn't look at me once. He would always joke with me that he would be in on my delivery too! funny that he actually was! On my next contraction i pushed! I pushed three times and the baby didnt come but the doctor said if you can give me one more push the baby will be here so i pushed one more time and she was right... Baby boy mo entered the world on September 7th, 2011 at 1725! 7 pounds 7 ounces and 19.5 inches long! Since he did have meconium they took him immediately... he didn't get to come on my chest and Ryan didn't get to cut the umbilical cord! But it didnt matter.. the neonatologist swept up our baby boy and just suctioned him and suctioned him! He wasn't crying so then i started to cry! I kept asking ryan who didnt leave my side once if he was okay! He kept telling me he didn't want to leave me.. but i made him go make sure the baby was okay! Once they were done suctioning him he started to cry! I was so relieved. Then ryan went and hung out with him. Everyone was saying that he looked just like ryan! My precious baby boy had arrived. The neonatologist continued to suction him and look after him with the nurse and the RT. We chose to do cord blood so the doctor had to do that and then sew my va jay jay back up and that took around 30 minutes. And it was probably the worst part! She was not very gentle and it hurt SO bad! I just wanted to see my baby too! Everyone kept showing me pictures and saying how he has red hair and he looks just like ryan! I was a little upset because I wanted him to have blonde hair and look a little like me! haha I know how selfish right. But once i saw him... he was perfect! All those thoughts went right out the window!

Finally around 600 pm they let me hold our baby boy. As soon as they handed him to me I just started to cry. I couldn't control it and I couldn't stop! He was perfect and everything i had imagined he would be and more! Ryan and i just stared at him in awe. I couldn't believe that was MY baby and he was mine. I couldn't get over that he was inside of me! He was just so perfect! Ryan and I spent a about an hour with him and then Ryan's parents came up! I wanted to try to feed him so we fed him. He latched on right away. Ryan was over the moon happy! I don't think i have ever seen him that happy. He was so proud of me and of our baby boy. It was so much fun to see him be so proud. After shift change, baby got a bath. My friend Amy came and brought us some dinner. We then were taken to our post partom room... I got really dizzy and light headed on my way there. So once we got there everyone left ryan and i with our baby! SCARY! we didn't get to our room till around 1000pm so once we got settled we went right to sleep! And then woke up every few hours to feed little man! I was already exhausted because I was up 38 hours straight plus i labored for 19 hours! But our first night went well with little man.. he slept most of the night... we kept waking up to change his diaper or to feed him.. we had no idea what we were doing! Plus I was in a lot of pain down there and it was hard for me to get up! Super dad ryan really helped me! At 5 am Dr. Safie came in and said i could go home if i wanted if the baby was discharged too..

The next morning Ryan went home to shower and my mom brought me breakfast.. yup del taco! =] While Ryan was gone the birth certificate lady came and threatened me and basically said i had 20 minutes to name our baby and Ryan wasn't even there! So i frantically called Ryan and said you need to get here now so we can name this cute little boy! So Ryan and I hashed it out.. I basically told Ryan that I like krue and madden so pick! He chose Krue... then we hashed out the middle name... Ryan really wanted alan. I liked Jacob. I wasn't crazy about Alan but it made Ryan SO happy that his son had his middle name. SO low in behold.. Krue Alan Morais was his name. I cant imagine it be anything else! Around 1200 the pediatrician Dr. hurwitz came in.. said Krue could also go home if his bili was ok. It was so around 230 we were on our way out of the hospital! Andrew and Jacki had just gotten there so it was fun to see them and they got to see Krue for a couple minutes! Then the three of us headed home for the first time.

prayers..

Ryans best friend Logan was injured in a serious motorcycle accident yesterday. We went up to milestone yesterday to watch our friends logan, brian, and andy race in the industry race for the transworld slam. It started out really fun. We brought krue to the track for the first time and it was just a fun day. I decided to not go and watch the last race and feed krue instead. The race ended and brian came up to the motorhome and was yelling that logan crashed and they needed my help! Luckily nate the dc rep just walked in the motorhome... so he took krue for me. Once i got to logan i knew that it wasnt good. There was nothing I could do. They had "paramedics" there that didnt know how to work a blood pressure cuff! It was crazy! 911 was called and logan was transported to the nearest hospital. At the time when he left he was not conscious but knew his name if you asked him. Honestly we all just thought he would come to in a few hours... we were really wrong!

Once we got to the hospital they wouldnt let anyone back with him for about two hours. Once his gf got to the hospital they let her back.. She came back out immediately and she said he was not doing well.. he was on a ventilator and sedated. Logans sister then arrived and was also very shaken up once she saw him. They wouldnt let anyone else back.. It was our worst night mare coming true. You never think something like this will happen to you or someone you love. Logan suffered a traumatic brain injury. His brain was swelling, he had two contusions with some slight bleeding. We are devasted. Its heartbreaking to see a good friend in his condition. Ryan is very shaken up and so worried for his friend. We know that logan will pull through with the grace of god.

Today on our way up to visit him amanda his girlfriend called and said that logan is awake and talking. Once we got there logan was not awake... he would respond when you asked him a question. He was in a lot of pain. He was able to open his eyes and identify two of his best friends. Andy and Brian. He called ryan tyler.. Ryan was heartbroken. Its so hard to watch ryan so shaken up and so worried about logan. Logan was the best man in our wedding and hes been a friend of both of ours for years. He is alert but not out of the woods yet. Praying that he is able to wake up and not have any neurological deficits. God is amazing and we are so grateful for how much he has progressed in the last 24 hours. We love you logan. stay strong. We are pulling for you and will be by your side 100% of the way.

dont mind ryan's chew!

Crazy Couple of Weeks!

So last Tuesday i got a call from my brothers mechanic Frankie at about 2 in the afternoon... Frankie doesn't regularly call me so i immediately knew something was wrong!! Frankie said that Andrew crashed really bad and wanted me to meet them at the doctors... Of course i did and I met Andrew and Frankie at Dr. Reimans office. Poor Andrew was in so much pain and SO mad... So a couple x rays and ct scans later Andrew had two fractured elbows and a broken wrist... Poor guy couldn't move his arms.. So we decided he was going to stay with us for the night until Jacki got in the morning. Thank goodness for jacki! Poor Andrew was so miserable and all he wanted was his wife. I did the best i could.. Once Jacki got here i got to spend the day with Emma.. which made my day! It was a great unexpected surprise! Ryan and I took Emma to Chik-fil-A and she played in the play house thing forever! She is such a fun age! We then took her to the pond at harveston and fed the ducks! After that she was pretty tuckered out from traveling so we came home and we took naps! She always has a hard time waking up and once she woke up she just started to cry and say I want my momma! I knew Andrew and Jacki were in a meeting so i just held her.. she is so sweet. She loved the nursery too.. we spent a lot of time in the nursery. When she first saw it she said "its beautiful!" Gosh i just love her!  Andrew ended up having surgery on Thursday... he was pretty miserable not being able to move his arms! But Jacki took great care of him! I got to spend a little bit of time with them so that was another unexpected surprise! Just missed Hudson!

Emma coloring on the chalkboard doors!

We spent some time with our friends Billy and Amy this weekend as we normally do! they have a one year old son, Landon. Landon had the flu with some vomit and diarrhea. We didn't think anything of it to be honest! We just thought you know hes a kid and he catches viral stuff a little easier than we do! Well come to find out the bug that is going around town is a strong one! Ryan woke up Monday night in middle of the night vomiting! He vomited till about 3 and then was just sicker than a dog all day Monday! He had a 101-102 temp on Tylenol.. we were doing the luke warm baths, cool clothes, everything and nothing would touch it! I was really hoping it was just going to be a 24 hour thing! In the afternoon the diarrhea started! Poor guy was so sick and could hardly move! He slept most of the day... I only went in the room to see if he needed anything, check his temp, or put him in the bath! I washed my hands like a crazy person! I prayed i wouldn't get what he had! Ryan's fever broke around midnight Tuesday night! Tuesday Ryan just laid around all day! He rested and i bleached the house! I did not want to get what was going around! Ryan is still having some diarrhea and I've heard it can last up to a week! YUCKY! haven't gotten sick yet so that's a good thing!

Yesterday we had my 37 week appointment. I got "checked" which is a very uncomfortable experience! She said i am hardly dilated maybe a fingertip! She said the head is still pretty high too! Which to me is a good thing because Ryan left for southwick, ma this morning! And yes the hurricane Irene is expected to hit Sunday. The race will be on Saturday and it will probably rain on Saturday! That's okay with me so Ryan can have some energy as he is still recovering from this nasty flu! I just hope he can get home on Sunday! Ive heard he may not be able to get home until Tuesday! Praying baby stays put until then!! That's all from the morais casa!
